Powerful salty smoky explosion, feels like the bottled ppm is far bigger than the malted ppm of 30-40.  Needs a bit of breathing space but ‘WOAH!’ this is a show stopper when you let the flavours unfold.

This bottling captures the distinctive character of Tobermory’s peated expression.

Distilled in 2008, this single malt was matured in traditional oak casks before a year-long finish in Amarone wine casks.

Tasting notes

NOSE: Powerful winter fire smoke, roasted nuts, creamy crème brulee and a subtle hint of cinnamon.

PALATE: Sweet vanilla custard, dry cocoa and honey balanced with tannins and a distinct saline note intertwined with a peppery smoke. More and more plum builds up behind the saltiness.

FINISH: Smoky finish with a hint of clove.
