This Single Malt whisky from the family owned distillery in the Kingdom of Fife has been distilled using Fife barley and matured in ex-Oloroso American Oak Sherry Butts used previously for maturing Sherry. These casks were chosen for their gentle oak flavours and sherry rich sweetness to compliment the fruit character of the Kingsbarns spirit.
Kingsbarn’s Balcomie is a fruity, light and balanced whisky bottled from ex-oloroso American oak sherry butts.
Tasting notes
NOSE: Treacle, sultanas, fruit loaf with cinnamon icing, a touch of dark chocolate with summer berries.
PALATE: Sweet tinned pineapple up front, orange peel, cake spice.
FINISH: Lots of dried apricot and a hint of roasted hazelnut on the finish.

Kingsbarns Distillery is one of the newer distilleries in Scotland, located in the Fife peninsula, near St Andrews and owned by Wemyss family.
House style of this Lowland, Kingsbarns is elegant, soft and fruity. Its whiskies are predominantly matured in American oak. The distillery building has been converted from a semi-derelict farmhouse into an impressive modern distillery and visitor centre, at the heart of the distillery is an old ‘doocot’ (also known as dovecot) which is subtly incorporated into the Kingsbarns bottle.
