Each year, the Glengyle distillery releases two 8 year old cask strength expressions. This Kilkerran release was matured exclusively in Bourbon casks, producing a powerful, yet beautifully poised single malt that balances malty vanilla sweetness with smoke, citrus, and a coastal influence.
NOSE: A typically zesty introduction to this dram, there are notes of key lime pie, apple jelly, honey and vanilla.
PALATE: There is a creaminess on the palate, with notes of banoffee pie, vanilla custard and panna cotta.
FINISH: Sea salt and brine notes emerge in the finish, along with a gorse note.

The name Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic, “Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain” which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell and Campbeltown now stands. Glengyle now produces a range of Kilkerran Single Malt whiskies, all natural in colour and non-chill filtered. All Kilkerran whisky characterises typical Campbeltown drams; rich, complex and perfectly balanced.
