Crafted by hand, this Deanston is first matured in ex-bourbon casks from a family run cooperage in Kentucky, creating its subtle but zesty character, the golden spirit is then finished in Virgin Oak casks, adding subtle spicy aromas.
Tasting notes
NOSE: Heady virgin oak, bursting with lemon zest and sweet barley sugar, with delicious notes of apple and nutmeg.
PALATE: A delightful sweetness, evoking memories of candied fruits and vanilla toffee, balanced with heather honey.
FINISH: A satisfying light spice, with a rewarding burst of honeyed malt and sweet oakiness.

The Deanston Distillery sits on the banks of the River Teith and is located not far from the Stirling. A very picturesque distillery, this distillery was not originally built as a distillery.
Formerly a cotton mill that employed up to 1,500 people, this cotton mill faced an uncertain future in 1965 until it was taken over and converted into this amazing distillery. The old weaving mills of the distillery now the warehouses where Deanston whiskies are matured.
